Market Day & Community Function Coverage in Pimpama

Arcare Pimpama opened their aged care community for a Market Day, bringing local artisan stalls, a gelato cart and flower arranging into the building for residents, families and visitors from the surrounding area.

Photographing in an aged care setting asks for a different pace. Residents are at home rather than at a corporate function, and the images that matter are the unhurried ones — a conversation at a stall, a resident with their dog, someone genuinely pleased with what they have just been handed.

Consent and dignity come ahead of coverage. Working slowly, at eye level, and giving people room to decline is what produces images an organisation can confidently use in its own marketing and family communications.

Scott's background is in psychology, which shapes how he works in aged care and community settings — reading a room before raising a camera, and treating a resident's choice not to be photographed as the end of the conversation rather than something to work around.
