Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your photography session
Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
I'm based in Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast and shoot regularly across the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast Hinterland — from Coolangatta up to Hope Island and inland to Springbrook and Tamborine. I'm also happy to travel further for the right shoot. Travel is included across the Gold Coast for all sessions and across the whole region for weddings; full details are on the Pricing Page.
What is the turnaround time for my photos?
I pride myself on a fast, reliable delivery. Your fully edited, high-resolution photo gallery will be delivered to you in less than 7 days following your wedding, session, or event.
How many photos do we receive and how are they delivered?
You can expect to receive about 50 professionally edited photos per hour of coverage. All high-resolution images are provided via a secure Google Drive download link. In addition to this, you will receive a beautiful, password-protected online gallery link, making it incredibly easy to view and share the photos directly with your guests, family, or event participants.
What happens if it rains?
We shoot anyway, usually. Overcast light is softer and often better than harsh midday sun, and light rain at the beach can make for images you'd never get on a clear day.
What works best is thinking about it in advance. When we're planning, have a second location in mind — somewhere undercover, or a spot that still works in poor weather. If the forecast turns, we move to it, and I'm happy to relocate on the day at no extra cost. Gold Coast downpours rarely last long, so shifting the timing by an hour is often all it takes.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I shoot on two Nikon bodies, so a camera failure on the day isn't a problem — there's always a second one on my shoulder. I also carry multiple off-camera flashes, so dim reception rooms and evening events aren't a limitation.
Do we meet or talk before the day?
For weddings, always. We'll go through your timeline, the locations, the group shots that matter and anyone I need to know about — the grandparent who tires early, the family situation to navigate carefully. That planning is included in every wedding package. For family sessions and events, a phone call or a few emails is usually enough to sort locations, timing and what you're after.
Can we give you a shot list?
Please do. Tell me the photographs you'd be upset not to have and I'll make sure they happen. Formal groupings work best as a short list of who's in each one — it keeps that part of the day quick, which everyone appreciates. Beyond your list I'll be working the way I always do, catching what actually unfolds.
What is your photography style?
I shoot documentary-style, naturally capturing the emotions of the day or night. I'm not going to line everyone up for an hour of posed group shots — I'd rather catch the moment your mum starts crying or your mate loses it on the dance floor. There are a handful of formal portraits where you want them, and the rest is what actually happened.
How much does a session cost?
Event and family coverage starts from $180 per hour; wedding ceremony packages from $950. Full details on the Pricing Page.
How far in advance should we book?
The wedding and event seasons across the Gold Coast and Brisbane are highly competitive. I am currently securing dates and filling up quickly for late 2026 and 2027. I highly recommend reaching out as early as possible to guarantee your preferred date.
