Vinnies CEO Sleepout Gold Coast Corporate Event Photography

Corporate Event Coverage & Community Support

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout brings business leaders together for one night outdoors to raise funds for homelessness services, held on the Gold Coast at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina. Coverage ran from arrival and registration through the evening's speakers and into the group photograph under stadium lights.

Winter, outdoors, after dark — conditions that rule out working with available light. The task is lighting participants without turning a fundraiser into a photoshoot, and staying unobtrusive while people are listening to speakers explain why the night exists.

A fundraiser like this only runs once a year, so equipment failure isn't really an option — cold weather is hard on batteries and gear, and there's no second sleepout to reshoot it if something drops out halfway through the night. A second camera body and a backup flash come to every outdoor evening event for exactly that reason.

Fundraising events have a particular need afterwards: images that work for the organisation's own reporting and for participants to post themselves, so sponsors and donors can see where the night went.
