Parks and Leisure Australia's Queensland branch held their conference in the function rooms at The Gabba, running keynote presentations and awards alongside a trade exhibition and networking sessions.

Industry conferences have more moving parts than a single-room event. Coverage needs the speakers and the award recipients, but also the exhibitor stands the sponsors have paid for, the delegates in conversation between sessions, and the venue itself — the rooms look directly out over the ground, which is a large part of why organisations book it.

Awards presentations need the most planning. There is one opportunity at each handshake, and recipients are usually walking off before a second frame is possible.
