A Year 12 pre-formal photographed at a private waterfront home in Runaway Bay. Coverage started inside with the send-off — family, last-minute adjustments, the hug before everyone heads out — then moved onto the lawn and down to the water as the light dropped. Group shots, couples and individual portraits of each student, all done before the cars arrived.

Waterfront homes on the northern Gold Coast are among the best pre-formal locations going: open lawn, palms, moored boats, and water that turns gold about forty minutes before sunset. Getting the timing right matters more than the location does, which is why I'll usually ask what time your cars are booked before anything else.
